Slightly further afield but could be combined with a visit to Chambord and/or Blois perhaps. Lots of interesting furniture and tapestries to see. This is the chateau that is the inspiration for the Chateau de Moulinsard the home of Captain Haddock in the TinTin stories, and there is a Tintin museum in the grounds. Cheverny is about 90 minutes from here
