Hello and welcome to La Croix Joreau.

We are John and Helen Larder and we would like to introduce you to La Croix Joreau, the surrounding area, and the many things to see and do in this region. And who knows you may even wish to come and stay!

La Croix Joreau is on the edge of the village of Parçay-les-Pins(pronounced Parsay-lay-Pan). Situated a pleasant twenty minute drive north of Saumur, the village is on the edge of the Loire Anjou Touraine Natural Park. The local area is mostly forest with some farms, and the main crop in the immediate area is apples. Parçay is in an excellent position to explore the Loire Valley, being at the most 45 minutes easy drive from any of the many attractions along the river between Angers and Tours. The region is very easy to explore as the roads have hardly any traffic, even at the height of summer.

Though La Croix Joreau is on the edge of the village, it is only a 200 metres stroll to the village centre as you can see by looking at the aerial photo. Here you will find the Boulangerie, Post Office, small but well stocked supermarket selling English papers, and the bar. The Jules Desbois Museum (a famous sculptor) is also in the village centre. Larger supermarkets are only ten minutes away at Vernoil and Noyant.

The accommodation at La Croix Joreau is situated round the courtyard, which is an ideal place for relaxing in during the evenings, playing a game of boules or just chilling out with a glass or two of the local wine. We offer a Table d'Hote meal in the evenings which has been very well received by all. Just let us know before hand and we can provide a meal in the evening - vegetarian option also available. Behind the buildings is a large area of grass ideal for games of football or cricket, and where the childrens swings and slides are. The swimming pool is in another private area and is sheltered from any wind so it is an ideal place to swim and sunbathe. With one and a half acres there is always plenty of space to do what you want.

A few miles from Parcay-les-Pins are the lakes at Hommes and Rille where there are plenty of areas for fishing, swimming, sailing, walking and cycling.

Being less than an hour from the circuit at Le Mans we are an ideal place to stay for the events there - details and dates of the Le Mans events here
